THE MAP® of the Grand Canyons of La Jolla is the largest LithoMosaic in the world, depicting the bathymetry of La Jolla Canyon and over 100 marine species indigenous to our coastal waters.
A Community Sculpture
THE MAP® opened on October 19, 2020 in honor of Walter Munk’s enduring legacy of exploration and discovery. The opening date was selected to commemorate what would have been Walter’s 103rd birthday. THE MAP® is the result of our community coming together to make this unique plaza a reality. At Kellogg Park in La Jolla, California, THE MAP® is the educational centerpiece for field trips and community events.

At Kellogg Park, visitors can scan QR codes of every species on display and discover fun and interesting facts.
