"JJ the Orphaned Baby Gray Whale" is a heartwarming wooden paipo surfboard by Earth Fan Surf Company, transformed into a masterpiece by the creative young artists of the EcoArts Kids Program at La Jolla Elementary School. In 1997, J.J., a baby gray whale born off the California coast and separated from her mother, was rescued, nursed back to health at SeaWorld in San Diego, and returned to the open sea.  The board captures the essence of this gentle giant in the deep blue sea.
